Ventilation noise of office & service building "Green Towers", Wroclaw - an analysis

Ventilation noise of office & service building

For the purpose of the investment run by Skanska Property Poland, an office & service building "Green Towers" in Wroclaw, Pracownia Akustyczna conducted an analysis of a ventilation noise coming from the devices situated on the roof of the building. Based on the analysis, detailed guidelines on the ventilation noise limiting were provided.

The ventilation noise comes from:

  • ventilation central units,
  • air intake,
  • exhaust vents,
  • aggregate cooling systems,
  • rooftop exhaust fans.

12 substitute point sources were created with assigned to them levels of acoustic power in octaves.

We calculated ventilation noise in the neighbouring areas for which there are limitations in the noise levels (including ventilation noise). Noise ventilation calculations were made based on PN-ISO 9613-2:2002 norm.

We took into consideration the screening coming from the existence of the attic and the geometry of sound propagation source - receiver track.
The set levels of ventilation noise were presented in octaves and as a single digit value. Report includes guidelines on attic project to assure proper ventilation noise limiting.

Ventilation noise propagated by "Green Towers" does not surpass the norms allowed in the investment neighbourhood and it retains a proper reserve to the requirements.
