Seminar hall of the Institute of History at Wroclaw University

The project concerned the seminar hall of the Institute of History in Wroclaw University and it included:

  • noise control,
  • seminar hall room acoustics,
  • A/V system.

Seminar hall has 102 seats and its volume is 415 m3 (14 656 cubical feet).

Taking the same requirements for noise levels and acoustic insulation for seminar hall as for auditorium, the project meets the PN-B-02151-02 and PN-B-02151-3 norms.

The acoustic requirements set for this seminar hall were fulfilled by using properly placed absorbing panels and properly directed reflecting panels.

Digital simulations confirmed that the natural sound propagation of the speaker’s voice in the seminar hall allows to achieve good to perfect speech intelligibility in the entire seminar hall audience.

The average sound-pressure level in the seminar hall is around 57 dB which is enough for a disciplined audience. Additionally, speakers will be equipped in the seminar hall sound reinforcement system.

Every seminar hall should be equipped in the A/V devices which allow to give more attractive and effective lectures. This seminar hall has been equipped in the following:

  • microphones: built in the podium gooseneck microphone and wireless microphone,
  • DVD player,
  • signal connector to connect the notebook,
  • stationary computer with LCD screen,
  • visualizer,
  • sound reinforcement: stereophonic to accompany the visual and voice reinforcing using the loudspeakers installed in the seminar hall ceiling,
  • Ethernet access,
  • video projector with projecting screen,
  • integrated control of the devices installed in the seminar hall.

To assure good visibility of the presented image, the back part of the .audience was raised.
