The electroacoustic system of Wroclaw Opera's Summer Stage

The electroacoustic system of Wroclaw Opera's Summer Stage

In the frameworks of a project "Developing Wroclaw Opera House together
with a Summer Stage
", Pracownia Akustyczna was responsible for creating
a complex project of the electroacoustic system
for the summer stage.

Pracownia Akustyczna was also responsible for a whole studio control
room acoustic project as well as for a complex recording electroacoustic
system installed in a studio control room, summer stage and rehearsal rooms.

The electroacoustic system of the summer stage included the following elements:

  • signal connectors and wiring,
  • high-class microphone set,
  • wireless systems:
    • wireless microphones,
    • wireless return signal transmission,
  • sound recorders and players,
  • multitrack recording,
  • digital system of phonic signal transmission,
  • phonic consoles,
  • stage and audience sound reinforcement system,
  • electric chain hoists system.

Designers set the guidelines for the mobile electrical splitter together with the wiring and main power connectors.

Because of the seasonal character of the summer stage, the electroacoustic system has been equipped in a set of flight-cases to allow easier and safer way of transporting its elements from the storage place to the place of use.

50 m2 (540 square feet) studio control room has been equipped in the electroacoustic system for multitrack recording. The electroacoustic system allows realisation of recording sessions, events, concerts and rehearsals on the summer stage as well as in most of rehearsal rooms and on the Main Stage of Wroclaw Opera.

Room acoustics of the studio control room has been optimized for the monitor surround system. For the studio control room we designed a retuned room acoustics to allow modification of distribution of first sound reflections.
