ACOUSTIC PROJECTS

ACOUSTIC PROJECTS

Pracownia Akustyczna creates from the beginning the project documentation for the needs of the public investments run in accordance with the Public Procurement Law as well as for the Private Investors.

For each acoustic project we thoroughly analyse the Client's needs and discuss the proposed solutions in detail with the User, in order to make the final project fully meet the project guidelines.

All employees of Pracownia Akustyczna have an academic degree in acoustics and a broad experience in creation and realisation of the projects.

We thoroughly analyse all the details, which are presented in project documentation containing the following elements:

  • project guidelines (qualitative, signal, functional), developed, among other, on the agreements made with the User,
  • three-dimensional room modelling as well as the selection and arrangement of finish materials based on digital simulations,
  • selection and location of loudspeakers on the basis of a digital simulations of sound reinforcement system using three-dimensional acoustic modelling,
  • detailed flowcharts representing all connections between signal connectors, server cabinets, and devices,
  • location of devices, cable channels, signal connectors, and server cabinets presented on architectural drawings - projections and sections,
  • detailed guidelines on the systems' power supply or a whole power supply project,
  • detailed project description, including system operating principles, list of devices, cable lines, etc.,
  • technical specification of execution and commissioning of the works, including detailed specification of technical requirements of the entire system as well as of the individual devices,
  • a bill of quantities and investment estimate.

Pracownia Akustyczna conducts projects on every stage of the investment process:

  • the preparation of the investment by the Investor,
  • expert consulting,
  • functional and spatial program,
  • competitive project,
  • project concept,
  • architectural project,
  • executive project.

Pracownia Akustyczna creates projects in the following specializations:

Room acoustics - acoustic adaptation, acoustical structures. Room acoustics project includes:

  • selection of shape, size and proportions of the room,
  • selection and arrangement of finish materials and acoustical structures creating required acoustic parameters,
  • the maximum use of common building materials to achieve the desired room acoustics,
  • calculations and digital simulations representing planned values and frequency characteristics of acoustic parameters, such as reverberation time, speech intelligibility, etc.,

Noise control - acoustic insulation, architectural acoustics, noise limiting, soundproofing. Noise control project includes the following information:

  • the maximum acoustic background levels requirements for individual rooms,
  • acoustic insulation of all dividing structures and the specification of the structure of the dividing elements,
  • the guidelines for all installations, in particular the guidelines on limiting the ventilation noise,
  • methods of limiting the noise propagated by an object to the environment, taking into consideration the acoustic protection of the surrounding environment and objects.

Electroacoustic system (sound reinforcement, recording studio, outside broadcast van, etc.). Project of the electroacoustic systems consists of the following elements:

  • all devices selection: microphones, preamplifiers, audio consoles, sound  recorders, amplifiers, loudspeakers,
  • selection of supplementary devices and equipment: DI boxes, tripods, cables,  matrix switchers. etc.,
  • calculations and digital simulations to represent planned values and   characteristics of sound system operation parameters, e.g. sound-pressure level, speech intelligibility, sound coverage.

Complex stage management system for theatres consists in fact of projects of several systems. Stage management equipment contains:

  • wired and wireless intercom connection,
  • announcements broadcasting,
  • stage and audience monitoring,
  • cue lights,
  • "silence" banners,
  • end-of-intermission bells,
  • technical video monitoring,
  • digital signage in the foyer.

Public address (Tannoy) systems are designed in a similar way as classic electroacoustic stage systems. However, a single public address system is able to operate in many rooms even in very large buildings. Voice Evacuation Systems are in fact public address systems with higher requirements concerning reliability, resistance to electromagnetic interference as well as any other requirements resulting from the fire dangers. We design public address system using the same operations as for classic stage electroacoustic systems.

Multimedia systems designed for conference halls and lecture halls are integrated with the rooms' equipment to assure high comfort of usage. Basic functionality of those systems includes an appropriate display of visuals accompanying the lectures as well as the voice reinforcement and the audio illustration reinforcement. In more developed systems A/V control system is integrated with the lightning and dimming control system. The complex conference multimedia system project includes:

  • selection and arrangement of screens, projectors and loudspeakers on the basis of digital simulation using three-dimensional model of the room; optimization of sound reinforcement to achieve required level of speech intelligibility,
  • selection of lighting zones and lighting control system,
  • windows dimming system and windows dimming control.

Multi room systems are usually designed for the needs of detached houses and they allow for a complex multi room control of listening to music and watching television or video material in different rooms. While designing such projects we select the structure that fits the room layout and specific requirements of particular users. Documentation includes and specifies the components installed in the "server room" of the system and end devices (screens, loudspeakers, remote controllers) installed in particular operational rooms.

Stage technology is a specialization which describes the functionality of such buildings like theatres, concert halls, and other multipurpose arenas. To create a technological project we determine the guidelines on room layout, personal and equipment communication. Such documentation also includes the solutions concerning transport and storing and it also concerns all warehouses and dedicated rooms. Technological project describes the layout of lofts and technical platforms ans it is also responsible of assuring proper technical infrastructure allowing the functioning of stage mechanics, stage lightning or sound reinforcement.

Stage technique is most often a part of stage technology design, concerning the specialized equipment of show arenas. Such project includes equipping in curtains, tripods, stands, stage flooring, ballet flooring, stage equipment, orchiestron equipment, etc.

Stage lightning is also known as studio lighting, and theatre lighting. In the framework of the stage lightning design we make: the selection and distribution of lighting frames (zoom spots, fresnel lantern, floodlights, pars, profile spots, heads, scoops, follow spots, etc.) using digital simulations. We select and specify dimming cabinets, consoles, drivers, and wiring.

Stage mechanics For mechanics documentation we design mechanical devices used for plays and concerts.

  • upper mechanics: stage battens, drapes, winches, light bridges,
  • lower mechanics: stage lifts, piano lifts, revolving stages, orchestra pit trapdoors.

Documentation contains selection, construction and location of particular mechanical devices as well as electric or hydraulic supply depending on a chosen technology. A project also contains solutions in the mechanics control.

Power Supply This issue can be solved in project documentation created by Pracownia Akustyczna in two ways. The minimal version includes the detailed guidelines for wiring designer concerning the ways of power supply of the individual technological systems. Such guidelines include the specific data on:

  • the structure of power supply,
  • division into circuits,
  • securing individual circuits,
  • wire cross section requirements,
  • wiring system design in the object.

The maximum version contains Pracownia Akustyczna's design of the entire wiring of technological systems or other systems, planned in the object.
